I would like to have a road map and set short/long term goals to get a job at R&d

I would like to have a road map and set short/long term goals to get a job at R&d

I will go to my last year of my mechanical program in September. I took a year off at the end of 3rd year and I will be going back with 16 months of work experience. I am interning in a car manufacturing company assisting to make jigs, fixtures, end of arm toolings etc. I have developed good Catia/Solidworks skills and moderate level of complementary ANSYS skills. However, I would like to have a career at R&D departments of aerospace or automotive companies in the future. I generally like designing and validating stuff, so specific industry doesn't matter. For various reasons, I haven't participated in any university design clubs in the past (still regretting). I would like get advice on how to plan my time until graduation to increase my chances for R&D design jobs. I would like to have a road map, and set short/long term goals. Any advice is appreciated!

Engineering fields/jobs that deal directly with public impact

Engineering fields/jobs that deal directly with public impact

Apart from engineering, I've always been interested in stuff that's involved in service/benefit to the public.

For example being in charge of a technological development that's going to be directly distributed to the public.

What sort of jobs/sectors in engineering (or non engineering jobs possible with an engineering major) are there?

Online Freelance work

Online Freelance work

Hey all –

I am looking to get into online freelance work as a side hustle and I am wondering if anyone has any experience they can share about how to jump into the marketplace or where to advertise myself and find work.

I am currently on kkooee and upwork, but there is a lack of work on kkooee and the rates on upwork are very low.

Any suggestions are helpful!
