Name of a mechanism used in toy lightsabers
Strange post, but I didn't know where else to ask. The lightsabers when I was a kid used a mechanism that essentially comprised of a series of tubes of varying sizes at both ends, progressively getting smaller and artificially extending it's length and holding in place due to friction. Does anyone know the NAME of this type of mechanism?
Another example is a back-scratcher. I think I've also seen them used by people who pick up garbage. When fully extended, your press on the top and three prongs would stick out the bottom and pick up the garbage. Does that mechanism have a name too?
