Is anyone here a Forensic or “Investigative” Engineer?
I work as an engineer in the power industry, mostly designing and specifying hydronic systems that support power generation facilities. I've recently been approached by a forensic engineering firm to join their team as an engineer that would investigate accidents and product failures and help determine the root cause. They describe it more like "detective work". I know this isn't a CSI episode, but how fulfilling is "investigative engineering"? I enjoy my work in the power industry, but this seems intriguing.
