Small question about a structural calculation i made
Hello.
I have to calculate when this beam starts to bend. It's fixed on both sides and made of aluminum. http://ift.tt/2sEGIEw I took the formula of max stress = M x y / i
I calculated a intertia moment of 67500mm4 for a beam of 30x30mm 2mm walls. so y is 15mm.
I need to get a maximum force the beam can handle, so I have two equal forces called X. I calculated a Max moment of 1300X newton millimeter. For the max stress I took 70000n/mm2
I come to the conclusion the maximum force X is 242 kN. This seems pretty high and I don't have the answer, did I so something wrong?
