Planning and scheduling

Planning and scheduling

Dear respected redditors,

I would like to ask about planning and scheduling engineering (maintenance planning not construction) if anyone here has this work like me (I am still new).

I want to know few things:

1- What software do you use? 2- How do you build your technical knowledge compared to field engineers? and is it really that important? (most important question) 3- Is there any recommendation such as books, courses (online), stuff to learn? 4- as for maintenance planning, how do you make your weekly schedules? 5- What is the perfect day for a planning engineer? I mean what does he do from 8 AM to 4 PM?

Thanks to your answers.
