I’m two weeks away from leaving for basic training with the USAF. I want to take advantage of the opportunities of free education. Software or aerospace?
I realize these fields are quite different from each other, although there is certainly some overlap in their application because software is such an integral part of everything in today's world. My question is, which field is easier to enter, and which field would yield the best opportunity for growth?
I love computers, but I also love airplanes. I have been taking flying lessons for a couple years now, and I absolutely love being involved with aircraft and their operation. I would love to design aircraft and fly them freely some day. On the other hand, I have some dreams of one day creating my own video game, or perhaps a cool new app, etc. Obviously the options are endless.
So /r/engineering, what do you suggest? Anybody here have experience in both fields?
